2016 ESPN College Football
Studio: Loyal Kaspar
Working on the brand new identity for College Football on ESPN was an creatively rewarding experience and collaboration. This massive undertaking that spanned 18 months to rebrand the single largest sports brand in America. The concept began with the idea of "Football Nation" which celebrates American landscape and the unique culture, rituals, and traditions of college football.
There were many design items to be created for the rebrand, so there were a lot of brainstorming sessions to establish each unique concept for the opens, team/player IDs, bump to breaks, sponsorship graphics, studio updates, text transitions, and logo reveals.
ESPN wanted the ability to customize each asset accordingly to their needs. We developed a solution that involved creating a modular design system for the automated creation of thousands of unique team match-ups and player IDs.
Nominated for an Emmy in Live Event Graphic Design.
